Viral Videos 

I got so excited when Ms. Lorch told us that we are doing something about Flash Mob and trying to make a Viral Video. I was so excited because I never done stuffs like that before. We did many things in class. First, Ms. Lorch told us to find at least 6 videos and make a playlist from that and I think, it was the easiest part in this project. 

For me, the hardest part is when we need to find the best moves that we want to use in the dance. It takes the longest time for me when I need to watch all of the videos and to decide which video is the best one. 

We were talking about what the purpose should we have in making this video is class.            

When Ms. Lorch asked us about that, something came to my mind. I was thinking about the rumor about our school.

 I decided to choose one purpose that I think we should have in making this video. I think, if everybody still want to stay in the Furness's situation now, or even if they want to make Funess to be a better school, I think that we should do something that can make people's mind about Furness High School change. I think we can do something either about protesting or something about the beauty of the togetherness.

                                          What Winter Means in My Family 

     In my country, Indonesia, there is no snow. There is just summer and rainy seasons. But, in there we still have Christmas and New Year brake, but American people calls that Winter Brake. In my country when its winter brake, its mean this is the very-very fun days, because all the student from the 1st grades until 12th grades is have no school for like three weeks. Even the college students too.
     For my family and I, winter is the time for relaxing, spend time with family, and exactly it is the time almost Christmas and New Year. All of my family celebrate Christmas and New Year. We do a lot of things in winter brake.
     Because we have no school, me and my family spend a lot of time together. We just stay home and watching a movie,or talking or we go somewhere together. If it,s almost Christmas, we started to clean up our house, and we also make cookies. We makes a lot of cookies because all of our family would get together and spend time together in Christmas and New Year.
     In the place that I lived, mostly of the families makes a lot of cookies for Christmas because all the people who knows each other would get together and spend time together. Already be a custom in my place that I lived, that every Christmas every houses or every families to have cookies and provide sodas. My mom always provides cookies and sodas in our house because most of my family would come to our house and we often eat together.
     But in America for me and my family, winter time is the time to get ready for snow and the cold weather. But we still celebrate Christmas and New Year. We always have fun on Christmas.

 

My experience in Furness High School

This is my first year in U.S.A and exactly this is my first year or my first marking period in my school. The first day I came in this school, I was so scared and so confused because my English was very bad and sometime I understand what the people said but I didn't know how to answered they questions. But day by day in Furness High School, I learn more and more and because all the teacher in Furness High School, now my English better than the day before. And I learn much more thing that I never know before.

On the first day I can understand what the teacher said and I can do what they want. I do well in Geometry  because some of the theory I had learn in my country, even there still many people better than me . And I do well in Geometry because I always pay attention when the teacher explain the lesson. The one that I think I do well too is Word History and I think I had try all my best in the all subject.

The reason that came to U.S.A is to come for school and also to make my English better. And I think my English now better than the day-day before. But I still need to learn more especially for the vocabulary and the placement of the word. I think if my English better, later I can do better and better than now.

                                     WHY WE DON'T USE GOOGLE TRANSLATE?

     

     Use the google translate is the way for translate from the one language to the another languages. Use the google translate is already be a habit for a many people especially for a student in a ESL classes. But use the google translate is not the best way for translate some word. If we just translate two or three words in the same time its still okay. But, if we translate more than three words sometime the translating is not correctly. The other reason why google translate is not the best way for translate is sometime the meaning of the words we want to say is different from the translating. Because every country has a different the placement of the word. And in the other country, sometime one word can have a lot of meaning. If we translate a one sentence and some of the word in that sentence has a lot of meaning, the computer can not know which one of the meaning we want to say and the translating is not correctly.

                                                                Coming to America


     I was in my home when my mother told me to come to USA. It's was at afternoon when I back from school. She was told me with cellphone because she and my brother already in USA. When she call me, I'm not doing anything. I just play with my phone in my room with my uniform still in my body. My mother told me to come to USA with my aunt and uncle. But it was uncertain, because my uncle don't told me yet. Two weeks after my mom call me, my uncle call me and he says "Next month we will go to the United Sates. Your ticket has been purchased, and you have to come one week before we departed". Because my uncle lived away from my house. It was needed a plane to go there. After that I called my mother to be sure, and my mom say yes. But i knew I would come to United States just for holidays. But one week after that my mom told me to stay in USA. And I was so confused, because I just like to school in my country and I don't know speak English too. But my mom says"Try first. If you can not, you can back to Indonesia".
     After that I told to my friends and my family that I would go to America. My friends so sad when I tell that to them. I am so sad too, because my friends are someone who always with me and make me feel happy when I was sad.And they more sad when they know I'm gonna stay here for a couple years and I don't know when I'm gonna back.
     A week before I go to my uncle house, me, my family and my friends  go to spend time together. My friends and me go to some place that quite far from where I life. We need two hours to get there. On the way my friend fell asleep and I took a photo of her and it was so funny. But until now she don't know about that. When we've got there, me and my friends go to a mall and after that we go to eat. After we eat, we just saw a look around and we go home. One day before I go to my uncle house, my family and my friends gather at my home and we eat together. We spend our time and have fun together.

     When I go to my uncle's house I'm don't bring all of my stuff. I just bring what I need and I did not bring my old clothes. And some of my shoes I give to my cousin because my suitcase will not fit anymore.

     Before I come to United States I have to buy my Mom order. That is a typical food of my residence. And my family order that too. So before I come I must buy that first.

     I left my home to my cousin. She is a woman and she already has a husband and one son. I  often call her but I must wait until they wake up. Because, the time in USA is different with the time in my country.

     I came to the United States on June-11-2015. I must wake up at 04:30 am because from my uncle house to the airport is need one and a half  hours. I wake up and I take a bath and and we go to the airport on 05:00 am. We go to the airport with two cars. The one is my uncle's car and the one is my cousin's car. We arrived at the airport at six thirty. And after my uncle, my aunt and me go into the airport my cousins and her children go back to the home. Before we get into the plane, we get breakfast which has prepared the airport. The plane took off approximately at 09:00 am. We went from Jakarta, Indonesia to Seoul, Korea. That is need seven hours to arrive on Seoul. We have two hours of transit. We just looking around in Korea. And it's time to travel again. From Korea we need  14 hours to arrive in the USA. I just sleep maybe  three hours in the airplane because that was noisy and when I already sleepy that is time for the airplane to landing. We arrived in America at 09:00 pm, the airplane is landing on JFK International Airport, New York.

     The person who picked us up from the airport is my mom, my brother, my uncle ,my aunt, and my cousin. I go to my uncle's house with my mother and my brother. My uncle's house is in New Jersey, but we do not directly to house, we stop in Manhattan New York. It was the first place I visited in America. From New York we directly to my uncle's house. Once we arrived at my uncle's house we clearing goods and sleep. That is my first night in USA.
